| Betws y Coed The Artists Resort |
A visual treat where mountain, water and trees create your backdrop.
There's no doubt what attracted the artists
of the Victorian era to this idyllic spot near the confluence of
the rivers Conwy and Llugwy. That glorious combination of mountain,
water and trees remains unspoilt today here at Betws-y-Coed. The
Swallow Falls are well known and well
worth visiting on your stay here; less-known is peaceful Llyn Elsi, a lake hidden amidst the mixed fir and broadleaf woodlands of Gwydyr Forest. The walk climbs steeply through the woods to the lonely Ancaster Memorial above Llyn Elsi. A circuit of the lake offers sublime, wide-ranging mountain views before the Roman road, Sarn Helen, descends to the remarkable Miner's Bridge and a riverside stroll back to the town's ancient Pont y Pair bridge.
